This is:
- Eating the wrong foods as a distraction or a comfort
- Grabbing food whilst doing something else e.g. working at desk or feeding the kids
- Not savouring and thinking about what you are eating, and at times not realising what you have eaten
Solutions
- Sit down with knife and fork
- Have no distractions – computer, tablet or tv
- Chew slowly
- Move away from phones and interruptions
- Make children wait and come and sit at the table with some colouring books or finger food
- Don’t eat when stressed or upset or excited
