At last the Government have recognised that we should supplement with Vitamin D during the winter months due to the lack of sun in the UK.  However some people may need to supplement even during the summer too.  If you only sit in the shade, don’t like exposing your skin to the sun, have naturally very dark skin, are housebound, hospitalised or institutionalised, or are a night shift worker.  The most bio-available form of Vitamin D is D3, and I like to use drops from Biocare or Nutri Advanced.  Most people need to supplement 2,000 iu per day, but those recovering from Cancer or who have auto-immune diseases may need more.
